Arrival

Day 1 of beijing

Flew in, quite easy, except my in flight tv happened to be broken :(

Arrived, bussed it to Alec's apartment, shower, then we went out for some great dinner and then swung over to a sweet concert venue to catch a show.

Takeaway of the day: Peanuts in China are fresh and amazing

Favorite Chinese saying so far: mei shi, meaning "no problem" which nothing has been so far

Day 2 of Beijing
We went to Alec's friend Paul's house for the afternoon / evening for a kickass bbq. Chris, Alec and I each spent a couple of hours honing our skewering skills, and the food was amazing.

Don't drink and drive:

In YVR, awaiting my 12 hour flight

I made it to the airport, and lucky for me there was a nice resturaunt which graciously served me a chicken wrap, and 3 G&T's. I'm ready for the trip, as it really begins in 30 minutes (and 12 hours).

Oh, and if you are into roller blading, I highly recommend Vancouver, tons of 'bladers up here.

All packed, Tuesday 10:36pm

My bags are packed, and I'm ready to go.

I leave tomorrow morning for Vancouver, BC, which I end up staying in for a night before jetting over to Beijing. No big deal, I like Vancouver.

Time to relax and do some traveling

Birthday Weekend

Well, I've hit my mid-20's in stride, finishing up a year of work at Jive, a year of living downtown, and 24 years of living.

On Saturday I played 54 holes of disc at Pier Park, and then Sunday went out to McIver State Park to play some more disc on my birthday.

Today I've started packing, gone to REI, and started this blog; not too bad.

I'll try to post pictures and stories from my trip to China which will begin on Wednesday!

Stay tuned. . .
